This is the hike itinerary of hiker Joey Nelson for the Western Lassen slope and Lassen Park area, "Lassen Rim Reconoiter". Day 1 hike start is on 06/14/2026 from 30976 Bambi Drive, Shingeltown, Ca 96088 westward approximately 12 miles along the Emigrant Trail with first camp at Lake McCumber. Day 2 continues along the Emigrant Trail with ingress to Lassen Park at the Manzanita Creek Trail in Lassen Park west of back country zone 6 approximately 12.3 miles. Second camp concludes at the end of Manzanita Creek Trail in zone 6. Day 3 continues south eastward between Mt. Lassen & Loomis Peak past Vulcans Castle Ski Heil Peak then down south westward, camping in the valley between Ski Heil & Pilot Pinnacle above Soda Lake in zone 4. Day 4 continues south eastward up Pilot Pinnacle Peak then down south westward to the valley between Pilot Pinnacle & Mount Diller, camping at Hike egress from Lassen Park begins off the PCT in back country zone 8, Hat Creek, then out north-west toward Lost Creek along Forest Route 32N14, crossing Highway 89 north of Eskimo Hill to Road 32N49 / Bridge Creek Road and eventually joining the Emigrant trail
